Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went to bed every night, he would hold his palms together, then blow into them, reciting: 'Qul Huwallahu Ahad', 'Qul A'udhu bi Rabbil Falaq' and 'Qul A'udhu bi Rabbinnas'. Then he would rub with them whatever he could of his body, starting with his head and face and the front of his body. He would do this three times. And when he was suffering from an illness or pain, he would recite these two Surahs and rub his body with his hands, seeking Allah's healing. And when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was on his sickbed, he used to recite these two Surahs and blow on himself, and when his pain grew intense, I used to recite them on him and rub his hand with my hand, seeking its blessing. 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Will you not teach me two Surahs that were revealed like them?' It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, why not?' He said: 'Qul A'udhu bi Rabbil Falaq and Qul A'udhu bi Rabbinnas.' And the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'There is no one who seeks refuge with the like of these two Surahs, and nothing sought refuge with like them.' A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: 'O 'A'ishah, seek refuge in Allah and be protected from the evil intents of men and jinn, for if one seeks refuge in Allah from the evil intents of men and jinn, nothing can harm him.' 'Abdullah ibn Khubayb reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: 'Recite in the morning: 'Qul A'udhu bi Rabbil Falaq and Qul A'udhu bi Rabbinnas.' Reciting them once will suffice you against everything.'
