Source & Authentication

Al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Allah, teach me righteousness.' (Allahumma 'aa-limni rushdi). And he said: 'O Allah, grant me guidance and make me firm in the religion.' (Allahumma inni as'alukal huda wat-tuda). And he said: 'O Allah, I ask You for the best of what You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I know.' (Allahumma inni as'aluka min khairi ma ta'lamu wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma a'lamu). And he said: 'O Allah, I ask You for the firmness in the command, and I ask You for the resolve to follow the right course, and I ask You for the gratitude for Your blessings, and the good worship of You. And I ask You for a sound heart, and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the best of that which You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of that which You know, and I ask Your forgiveness for that which You know. Verily, You are the Knower of the unseen.'
