‘Amr ibn Shu'ayb narrated on his father's authority that his grandfather told him: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The one who says: 'A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq' (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created) – three times, nothing will harm him until he wakes up in the morning.' Amr said: 'So, our 'Amr's family used to recite this whenever they learned it. It was a practice they taught to their young ones and the young ones would recite it. It was a practice of mercy.'
