بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth nor in the sky can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shai'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction. As you say 'Bismillah', remember that you are invoking the most sacred name, the source of all blessings and protection. Reflect on the meaning: you are placing yourself under Allah's care, recognizing His absolute power over all things and His complete knowledge. Repeat it three times in the evening for maximum benefit, as taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting this dua in the evening three times ensures that no sudden affliction or harm will befall you. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever says this three times in the morning, nothing will harm him that day. And whoever says it three times in the evening, nothing will harm him that night.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5087, Sahih by Al-Albani). This protection extends from all worldly and hidden dangers, by Allah's will, when recited with true belief and reliance.

Narrated by Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'He who says: 'Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shai'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-'Aleem' (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth nor in the sky can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing) three times every morning, will not be afflicted by any calamity until the evening. And whoever says it three times in the evening, will not be afflicted by a calamity until the morning.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5087, graded Sahih by Al-Albani).
