اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provisions, and deeds that are accepted.
*Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan*
When to Read
This beautiful supplication is recommended to be recited in the morning. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would recite it upon waking. Reciting it in the evening as well, as part of your daily supplications, can serve as a beautiful transition into the night, seeking Allah's continuous acceptance of your efforts throughout the day and seeking His blessings for the coming day.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and focus, raising your hands if possible, as is the practice during supplication. Reflect on the meaning of each part: seeking knowledge that truly benefits, provisions that are lawful and good, and actions that are accepted by Allah. It's a comprehensive request for spiritual and worldly well-being.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encompasses a profound request for three essential elements for a fulfilling life in this world and the next. Beneficial knowledge guides us to the straight path, pure provisions sustain us without leading us astray, and accepted deeds are the ultimate goal of our worship and striving. Seeking acceptance from Allah is key, as He says, "And whoever does righteousness – whether male or female – while he is a believer – then those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged, [even as much as] the speck on a date seed." (An-Nisa 4:124). This supplication is a concise yet powerful way to ask Allah for the best of both realms.
