Dua for the Health and Well-being of Loved Ones as Night Approaches

Evening Adhkar
Sahih HadithSunan Abi Dawud 5087

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Bismillahilladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-samaa'i, wa Huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem.

When to Read

This powerful dua is recited in the evening, typically after Maghrib prayer, as part of the 'Evening Adhkar' (Azkar al-Masa'). It's a beautiful practice to turn to as the day winds down and the night begins, seeking Allah's protection for ourselves and our loved ones during this transition.

How to Read

Recite this dua three times in the evening. It's a personal supplication, so you can say it quietly while sitting or standing. Focus on the meaning and the sincerity of your request to Allah. Imagine His infinite protection surrounding your family as you utter these words.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua offers immense protection. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promised that whoever recites this in the morning will not be afflicted by any calamity until the evening, and whoever recites it in the evening will not be afflicted by any calamity until the morning. (Sunan Abi Dawud 5087). By extending this protection, we are essentially asking Allah to safeguard our beloved ones throughout the night, a time when vulnerability can increase.
