Evening Adhkar
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 735a

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and deeds accepted.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This is a profound dua to recite in the evening, specifically after the Fajr prayer, as taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It's a powerful way to end the day by focusing on what truly matters: seeking knowledge that benefits us, seeking provision that is pure and lawful, and ensuring our efforts are accepted by Allah. Reciting it in the evening sets a tone of reflection and earnest supplication as the day concludes.

How to Read

Recite this dua sincerely with conviction in your heart. It is recommended to be mindful of its meaning as you say it. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would often say this immediately after the morning prayer, and reflecting on its request as evening approaches can serve as a beautiful reminder of our reliance on Allah and our desire for His approval.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encapsulates a comprehensive request for spiritual and worldly well-being. Beneficial knowledge guides us to worship Allah correctly and live a life pleasing to Him. Goodly provision sustains us without leading us astray. Accepted deeds are those performed sincerely for Allah's sake, which He accepts and rewards. By asking for these three things, we are essentially seeking Allah's blessings in our present actions and future endeavors, a perfect sentiment for the evening as we prepare for rest and the day ahead.
