بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing can cause harm on earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Bismillahilladhi la yad_hurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-samaa'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-'Aleem

The narrator said: 'Uthman ibn 'Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) was afflicted with paralysis of his servant. A man began to look at him. 'Uthman said to him: 'What are you looking at?' He said: 'I am looking at the affliction that befell you.' 'Uthman said: 'Shall I not report to you a hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'I did not hear any supplication that Allah's Messenger ﷺ taught to anyone among the people or taught it to himself, and he supplicated with it, but he did not break away from it until Allah, the Mighty and Magnificent, took it away from the world.' He said: 'He (the narrator) said: 'Uthman said: 'The supplication is: 'Bismillahilladhi la yad_hurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-samaa'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-'Aleem.' (In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing can cause harm on earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.) And it was that sickness which befell Abu Bakr, and he would say it for a day and a night, and he would not wake up except from it. And it befell 'Umar, and he did the like of that. And it befell 'Uthman, and he did the like of that.'
