اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ، وَغَلَبَةِ الْعَدُوِّ، وَغَلَبَةِ الْجَهْدِ.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the overwhelming burden of debt, the overpowering of the enemy, and the overwhelming hardship.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni, wa ghalabatil-'adawiyyi, wa ghalabatil-jahdi.
When to Read
This dua is specifically recommended to be recited in the evening. It's part of the Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ nightly supplications, after Maghrib and before sleeping, as a way to protect oneself from afflictions that could arise during the night or the following day.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and firm conviction in Allah's power to protect you. It is best recited after the prescribed evening adhkar (remembrances of Allah), perhaps after reciting Ayat al-Kursi and the final three surahs of the Quran. Narrated by Anas: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to say, "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni, wa ghalabatil-'adawiyyi, wa ghalabatil-jahdi." (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the overwhelming burden of debt, the overpowering of the enemy, and the overwhelming hardship). Anas added, "We used to say: 'O Allah, we seek refuge in You from the heat of Hellfire and the punishment of the Grave.'"
