When to Read
This powerful dua is recited as part of the evening adhkar (remembrance of Allah). When dusk settles and the day gives way to night, it's a moment for us to turn to our Creator for protection. Reciting this three times as evening approaches is a beautiful Sunnah practice that guards us against unforeseen harm and misfortune throughout the night.

Virtues & Benefits
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this dua as a means of seeking Allah's refuge from all created evils. The companion Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that whoever recites this three times in the evening will be protected from sudden calamities until the morning, and whoever recites it three times in the morning will be protected until the evening. (Sahih Muslim 2708). This protection extends to physical harm, spiritual harm, and any form of misfortune that might befall us.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever says: أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ (A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq) – three times when he stops for the night, he will be protected from any harmful creature until he wakes up in the morning. And if he says it when he stops in the morning, he will be protected until the evening.'
