Evening Adhkar
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 6369

"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and sadness, and I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the oppression of men."

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhli, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijali.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction. Imagine seeking protection from these specific troubles directly from Allah. It's often recited three times, but even once with a truly present heart can bring immense comfort.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua directly addresses common sources of distress: worry (hamm) and sadness (hazan). By seeking Allah's refuge, we acknowledge our own limitations and His ultimate power to alleviate our burdens. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this comprehensive plea to guard against not only emotional distress but also practical difficulties like debt and the mistreatment by others, ensuring a more holistic sense of well-being.
