Narrated by Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When a man enters his house, let him say: Bismillah walajna, wa bismillah kharajna, wa 'ala Rabbina tawakkalna.' (In the name of Allah we enter, and in the name of Allah we leave, and in Allah, our Lord, we trust). And when he eats, let him say: Bismillah. If he forgets to say Bismillah at the beginning, he should say: Bismillahi fi awwalihi wa akhirih (In the name of Allah at the beginning and at the end of it)." (Sunan Abi Dawud 3764). This hadith, although mentioning eating as well, highlights the importance of invoking Allah's name at the start of actions and transitions.
