Narrated by Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "When a man enters his house and mentions Allah the Mighty and Majestic at the time of entry and at the time of eating, Satan says: ‘You have no place to spend the night and no food.’ When he enters and does not mention Allah the Mighty and Majestic at the time of entry, Satan says: ‘You have found a place to spend the night,’ and when he does not mention Allah the Mighty and Majestic at the time of eating, Satan says: ‘You have found a place to spend the night and food.’" (Sunan Abi Dawud 3764). The wording in Sunan Ibn Majah 3890 is: "When a person enters his home, he should say: 'Bismillah, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa 'ala Allah Rabbina tawakkalna' (In the name of Allah we enter, and in the name of Allah we leave, and in Allah, our Lord, we trust)."
