Source & Authentication

Narrated by Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When a man enters his house, he should say: Bismillah walajna wa bismillah kharajna, wa 'ala Allah Rabbina tawakkalna.' (In the name of Allah we enter, and in the name of Allah we leave, and in Allah, our Lord, we place our trust.) Then he should greet the people who are in the house. And if he enters without anyone being in it, he should say: 'As-salamu 'alayya wa 'ala 'ibadillahis-salihin.' (Peace be upon me and upon the righteous servants of Allah.)
