بِسْمِ اللهِ، وَلَجْنَا، وَبِسْمِ اللهِ خَرَجْنَا، وَعَلَى اللهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا
In the name of Allah we enter, and in the name of Allah we exit, and in Allah, our Lord, we place our trust.
Bismillahi walajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa 'ala Allahi Rabbina tawakkalna.
When to Read
This beautiful dua is recited upon entering your home. It's a simple yet profound way to begin your time at home, infusing it with remembrance of Allah and a declaration of reliance upon Him. Whether you're returning after a long day, a short errand, or just stepping inside, making this a habit transforms your home into a sanctuary of faith.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity as you physically enter your home. It's recommended to say 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah) before you utter the rest of the dua. Feel the weight of the words: acknowledging Allah's name as you enter, His name as you leave (or even just within the home), and placing your ultimate trust in Him. It's a practice that requires no special ritual, just a mindful heart and a tongue that remembers its Creator.
Virtues & Benefits
Making this dua turns a mundane act of entering your home into an act of worship. It invokes Allah's protection for you and your family within the home. By stating your reliance on Allah ('tawakkalna'), you acknowledge that He is the source of all safety, provision, and peace. This practice helps to keep Allah's remembrance central in your life, extending beyond the mosque and into the very heart of your family's dwelling. It fosters an atmosphere of barakah (blessings) in the home.

Narrated by Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: 'When a man enters his house and remembers Allah upon entering and upon eating, Satan says: 'You have no place to spend the night and no food.' When he enters and does not remember Allah upon entering, Satan says: 'You have found a place to spend the night.' And when he does not remember Allah upon eating, Satan says: 'You have found a place to spend the night and food.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 3764 - Hasan)
