In the name of Allah we enter, and in the name of Allah we exit, and in Allah, our Lord, we place our trust. O Allah, I ask You for the best of entry and the best of exit, by Your name, our Lord, You are blessed. O Allah, I ask You for immediate good, and beneficial goodness, and beneficial knowledge, and a blessing in family and wealth, and an accepted repentance, and forgiveness and well-being, and gratitude for well-being, and independence from people.

Bismillahi walajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa 'alallahi Rabbana tawakkalna. Allahumma inni as'aluka khayral mawlaji, wa khayral makhraji, bismika Rabbana tabarakta. Allahumma inni as'aluka yamnan 'ajalan, wa as'aluka yumnan nafi'an, wa as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa as'aluka barakatan fil ahli wal-mal, wa as'aluka tawbatan maqbulah, wa as'aluka 'afwatan 'afiyatan, wa as'aluka shukran 'alal 'afiyati, wa as'aluka ghina 'anin nas.

It's a beautiful practice to verbally invoke Allah's name and blessings as you cross the threshold of your home, making it a sanctuary of peace and divine protection. Take a moment to be present and conscious of your intention as you recite.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is incredibly comprehensive, asking for Allah's blessings and protection in all aspects of entering and existing, both physically and spiritually. It seeks tangible benefits like beneficial knowledge and wealth, as well as intangible ones like accepted repentance, well-being, and gratitude. It also cultivates a sense of reliance on Allah alone ('ghina 'anin nas'). The act of making dua upon entering your home turns a mundane action into an act of worship, inviting Allah's peace and barakah into your living space.

Source & Authentication

Narrated by Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When a person enters his house, he should say: 'Bismillah walajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa 'alallahi Rabbana tawakkalna.' (In the name of Allah we enter, and in the name of Allah we exit, and in Allah, our Lord, we place our trust.) Then he should greet the people of his house, and say: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka khayral mawlaji, wa khayral makhraji, bismika Rabbana tabarakta. Allahumma inni as'aluka yamnan 'ajalan, wa as'aluka yumnan nafi'an, wa as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa as'aluka barakatan fil ahli wal-mal, wa as'aluka tawbatan maqbulah, wa as'aluka 'afwatan 'afiyatan, wa as'aluka shukran 'alal 'afiyati, wa as'aluka ghina 'anin nas.' (O Allah, I ask You for the best of entry and the best of exit, by Your name, our Lord, You are blessed. O Allah, I ask You for immediate good, and beneficial goodness, and beneficial knowledge, and a blessing in family and wealth, and an accepted repentance, and forgiveness and well-being, and gratitude for well-being, and independence from people.)
