Source & Authentication

Narrated by Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When a man enters his house, he should say: 'Bismillah (In the name of Allah); O Allah, I ask You for a blessed entry and a blessed exit. In the name of Allah we enter, and in the name of Allah we leave, and in Allah, our Lord, we put our trust.' Then he should greet his family.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 3764, Sunan Ibn Majah 3899 - graded Hasan by some scholars). The practice extends to remembering Allah's name before exiting as well, seeking His protection during our departure.
