Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all being]. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Allahu la ilaha illa huwal-Hayyul-Qayyum. La ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm. Lahu ma fis-samawati wa ma fil-ard. Man dhal-ladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi'idhnih.
When to Read
This powerful verse, Ayat al-Kursi, is recommended to be recited upon entering one's home. Doing so not only seeks Allah's protection for the dwelling but also brings His continuous remembrance into the space.
How to Read
Recite Ayat al-Kursi with clear intention and focus on its meaning. Ensure you pronounce the Arabic correctly. It's beautiful to recite it audibly as you enter your home, perhaps pausing at the doorway before stepping fully inside.
Virtues & Benefits
While there isn't a specific *dua* prescribed for entering the home that *must* include Ayat al-Kursi, the verse itself carries immense virtue. Reciting it is a means of seeking Allah's safeguarding. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ mentioned that whoever recites it after every obligatory prayer, nothing will stand between him and entering Paradise except death. (Sahih al-Nasa'i 10306). Therefore, its recitation at any time, especially when seeking protection, is highly beneficial.
