Narrated by Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When a man enters his house and mentions Allah the Mighty and Majestic at the time of his entry and at the time of his food, Satan says: 'You have no place to spend the night and no dinner.' When he enters and does not mention Allah the Mighty and Majestic at the time of his entry, Satan says: 'You have found a place to spend the night.' When he does not mention Allah the Mighty and Majestic at the time of his food, Satan says: 'You have found a place to spend the night and dinner.' Also, Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: 'Shall I not teach you a saying which Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) taught you? When any one of you enters his house, he should say: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَلَجْنَا، وَبِسْمِ اللَّهِ خَرَجْنَا، وَعَلَى رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا 'Bismillah walajna, wa bismillah kharajna, wa 'ala Rabbina tawakkalna' 'In Allah's name we enter, and in Allah's name we exit, and in our Lord we place our trust.' And if he entertains his children, he should say: 'O Allah, I ask you for the best of it and the best of what is in it.' And he should seek refuge in Allah from the evil of it and the evil of what is in it.
