Dua for Entering Home: Invoking Allah's Mercy for the Deceased in the Household

Entering Home
Hasan HadithSunan Abi Dawud 5096

O Allah, I ask of You the best of entry and the best of exit. In Allah's name we enter, in Allah's name we leave, and in Allah, our Lord, we trust.

Allahumma inni as'aluka khayr al-mawliji wa khayr al-makhraji. Bismillahi walajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa 'ala Allah Rabbana tawakkalna.

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'If any one of you goes to his home, he should say: Allahumma inni as'aluka khayr al-mawliji wa khayr al-makhraji. Bismillahi walajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa 'ala Allah Rabbana tawakkalna. (O Allah, I ask of You the best of entry and the best of exit. In Allah's name we enter, in Allah's name we leave, and in Allah, our Lord, we trust.) And if he eats, he should say: Bismillahi wa 'ala Barakatillah. (In the name of Allah and with the blessings of Allah.) And if he speaks, he should say: Bismillahi wa fi sabilillah. (In the name of Allah and in the cause of Allah.) And if he walks, he should say: Bismillahi Tawakkaltu 'ala Allah. (In the name of Allah, I rely on Allah.)'
