Narrated by Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When one of you enters his house, let him say: 'O Allah, I ask You for the good of the entering and the good of the leaving. In the name of Allah we enter, and in the name of Allah we leave, and in Allah, our Lord, we put our trust.' Then let him greet his family.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 3764). Another related narration states: 'When a man enters his house and remembers Allah the Mighty and Great upon entering and upon eating, Satan says: 'You have no place to spend the night and no food.' And when he enters and does not remember Allah the Mighty and Great upon entering, Satan says: 'You have found a place to spend the night.' And when he does not remember Him upon eating, Satan says: 'You have found a place to stay and food.' (Sahih Muslim 2017, relating to remembering Allah in general upon entering, and the specific dua for entering home is attributed to the practice taught by the Prophet ﷺ).
