Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When Ibn 'Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) landed in Marw, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Allah (the Almighty) has said: 'I am Allah, and I am the God of the idols. I am Allah, beside Whom there is no god. I am the Most Gentle, the Most Knowing. I am Allah, beside Whom there is no god. I am the Most High, the Most Majestic. I am Allah, beside Whom there is no god. I am the One Who gives life and gives death. I am Allah, beside Whom there is no god. I am the One Who has dominion over all things. I am Allah, beside Whom there is no god. I am the One who causes the ships to float. I am Allah, beside Whom there is no god. I am the One who makes the (heavenly) bodies move. I am Allah, beside Whom there is no god. I am the One who gives sustenance. I am Allah, beside Whom there is no god. I am the One Who is the most exalted in His kingdom. I am Allah, beside Whom there is no god. I am the One Who creates.' He (the Prophet) said: When you come to a place, say: 'Bismillahi, la ilaha illallah, hasbiya Allahu, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, ma sha Allahu, la quwwata illa billah.' (In the name of Allah, there is no deity but Allah. Allah is sufficient for me. I place my trust in Allah. What Allah wills, happens. There is no power except with Allah.) (This Hadith is recorded in Sahih Muslim).
