The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to say, 'When any one of you enters the privy, he should say: Bismillah, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal khubuthi wal khaba'ith.' (Translation: In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from all evil things, male and female devils.) This hadith is narrated by Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) in Sahih al-Bukhari (142) and Sahih Muslim (375). The 'khubuth' refers to male devils and 'khaba'ith' refers to female devils, essentially seeking refuge from all kinds of Shayatin in that impure place.
