When to Read

This supplication is recited just before entering the bathroom or toilet. It's particularly comforting when one feels a sense of unease, apprehension, or even a fleeting anxiety before entering such a private space. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this dua to invoke Allah's protection against unseen influences that might inhabit these places.

How to Read

Recite this dua sincerely before stepping into the bathroom. It's recommended to enter with the left foot first, after reciting the dua, and exit with the right foot first. The intention is to seek Allah's protection from any harm, especially from the jinn who are known to frequent such places.

This dua acts as a spiritual shield. By invoking Allah's name and seeking refuge, we remind ourselves of His omnipresence and protection.
