In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male and female devils (or evil and wicked things).

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'When any one of you intends to enter the privy, he should say: "Bismillahi. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith."' (Sahih al-Bukhari 142). The word 'khubuth' refers to male devils, and 'khaba'ith' refers to female devils. Some scholars also interpret it as seeking refuge from evil deeds and wicked things.
