بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah.

Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.

Virtues & Benefits

When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to his companions, he promised them that they would be guided, protected from harm, and sufficient in their needs. It's reported that when a person says this, it is said to them: 'You are guided, you are defended, and you are protected.' This dua encompasses a complete surrender to Allah's will and a plea for His encompassing care over your journey.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'When a person goes out of his house and says: "Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" (In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah), it will be said to him: "You have been sufficed, defended, and guided." Satan will be kept away from him.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 2601, graded Sahih by Al-Albani)
