Dua for Ease When Facing an Unjust Ruler

Difficulty
Sahih HadithSunan Abi Dawud 5091

O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Magnificent Throne, be my neighbor against the evil of the sky and the evil of the earth, and the evil of their devils, and the evil of every creature whose forelock You are seizing. Indeed, my Lord is on a straight path.

Allahumma Rabba as-samawati as-sab'i wa Rabba al-'arshil-'adheem, kun li jaran min sharri as-sama'i wa sharri al-ardi, wa sharri shayatinihima, wa sharri kulli dabbatin anta akhidhun bi nasiyatiha, inna Rabbi 'ala siratin mustaqeem.

Source & Authentication

Narrated by Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Indeed, the earth is the dominion of Allah. So, whoever among you finds his Imam (leader) doing something against the Book of Allah, let him not follow him, for he will be punished. And the people are the followers of their Imam.' Then he said: 'Allahumma Rabba as-samawati as-sab'i wa Rabba al-'arshil-'adheem, kun li jaran min sharri as-sama'i wa sharri al-ardi, wa sharri shayatinihima, wa sharri kulli dabbatin anta akhidhun bi nasiyatiha, inna Rabbi 'ala siratin mustaqeem.' (O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Magnificent Throne, be my neighbor against the evil of the sky and the evil of the earth, and the evil of their devils, and the evil of every creature whose forelock You are seizing. Indeed, my Lord is on a straight path.)
