Deceased
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 963

O Allah, forgive him and have mercy upon him, grant him well-being and pardon him. Honor his reception, make spacious his entrance, and cleanse him with water, snow, and hail. Purify him from sins as a white garment is purified from dirt. Replace his home with a better home, his family with a better family, and his spouse with a better spouse. Admit him to Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire.

It was narrated from 'Awf bin Malik Al-Ashja'i that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led the funeral prayer, and I memorized from his prayer. He said, while I was hearing him: 'O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, grant him well-being and pardon him. Honor his reception, make spacious his entrance, and cleanse him with water and snow and hail. Cleanse him from his sins as a white garment is cleansed from dirt. Replace his home with a home better than his home, and his family with a family better than his family. Admit him to Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire.' He said: 'And 'Awf bin Malik Al-Ashja'i said: And I wished that I were in his place.
