Dua for a Fallen Soldier Who Died Defending Islam

Deceased
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 963

O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, grant him well-being and pardon him. Honor his reception and make his grave spacious. Wash him with water, snow, and hail. Purify him from sins as a white garment is purified from dirt. Replace his worldly home with a better abode, his family with a better family, and his spouse with a better spouse. Enter him into Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire.

Allahumma-ghfir lahu warhamhu wa 'afihi wa'fu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu wa wassi' madkhalahu, waghsilhu bil-ma'i wath-thalji wal-baradi, wa naqqihi minal-khataya kama yunaqqa-th-thawbu-l-abyadu minad-danasi, wa abdilhu daran khayran min darihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wa adkhilhu-l-jannata, wa a'idh-hu min 'adhabi-l-qabri wa 'adhabi-n-nari.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from 'Awf bin Malik Al-Ashja'i that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led the funeral prayer, and I memorized from his supplication as he said: 'Allahumma-ghfir lahu warhamhu wa 'afihi wa'fu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu wa wassi' madkhalahu, waghsilhu bil-ma'i wath-thalji wal-baradi, wa naqqihi minal-khataya kama yunaqqa-th-thawbu-l-abyadu minad-danasi, wa abdilhu daran khayran min darihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wa adkhilhu-l-jannata, wa a'idh-hu min 'adhabi-l-qabri wa 'adhabi-n-nari.'
