اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِفُلانِ بْنِ فُلانٍ ، وَارْفَعْ دَرَجَتَهُ فِي المَهْدِيِّينَ ، وَاخْلُفْهُ في عَقِبِهِ في الغَابِرِينَ ، وَاغْفِرْ لَنا وَلَهُ يا رَبَّ العالَمِينَ ، وَافْسَحْ لَهُ في قَبْرِهِ ، وَنَوِّرْ لَهُ فيهِ
O Allah, forgive [Name] son of [Father's Name], raise his rank among those who are guided, and be his successor among those who remain. Forgive us and him, O Lord of the Worlds. Make his grave spacious and illuminate it for him.
Allahumma ighfir li [Name] ibni [Father's Name], warfa' darajatahu fil-mahdiyyeen, wakhlafhu fi 'aqibihi fil-ghabireen, waghfir lana wa lahu ya Rabb al-'alamin, wafsah lahu fi qabrihi, wa nawwir lahu feehi.
When to Read

Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: I said to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the matter with Abu Salamah?' She said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say as he was with Abu Salamah: 'O Allah, forgive Abu Salamah, raise his rank among those who are guided, and be his successor among those who remain. O Lord of the Worlds, make his grave spacious and illuminate it for him.' Umm Salamah said: 'So I recited this dua for him and Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: 'Say, O Messenger of Allah, what should I say?' He replied: 'Say: O Allah, forgive [Name] son of [Father's Name], raise his rank among those who are guided, and be his successor among those who remain. O Lord of the Worlds, make his grave spacious and illuminate it for him.'
