*Subhanallah walhamdulillah wa la ilaha illallah wallahu akbar*
When to Read
This dua is particularly poignant when remembering or praying for someone who has passed away during Hajj or Umrah. It's a general form of remembrance and supplication for the deceased pilgrim, seeking Allah's mercy and acceptance of their life and final moments.
How to Read
This is a form of Dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and Tasbih (glorification). Recite it with sincerity and reflection, understanding the immense reward associated with these simple yet profound phrases. For a deceased person, the intention is to supplicate for them, asking Allah to grant them forgiveness and a high station in Jannah.
Virtues & Benefits
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'On the Day of Resurrection, the righteous will be resurrected with their companions and their mothers and fathers. And it will be said to them: Enter Paradise, you and your kinsfolk whom you used to love.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 7009). More specifically, regarding those who die during Hajj, scholars mention a powerful hadith: 'Whoever dies, having set out for Hajj, Allah will not question him on the Day of Resurrection, nor will it be said to him: 'Did you perform Hajj?' and he will be told: 'Enter Paradise.' (Sunan Ibn Majah 2917, graded Hasan). This implies a special status for those who meet their end while fulfilling this sacred pillar of Islam. Our role is to make dua for them, seeking Allah's boundless mercy, as they have died in a state of worship and devotion.
