O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him relief, and pardon him. Honor his arrival, make his grave spacious. Wash him with water, snow, and hail. Cleanse him of sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt. Give him a home better than his home, a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse. Enter him into Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire.

Narrated Awf ibn Malik al-Ashja'i: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offer the funeral prayer for a deceased person and I memorized his supplication while he was saying it. He was saying: Allahumma-ghfir lahu warhamhu wa 'afihi wa'fu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu wa wassi' madkhalahu, waghsilhu bil-ma'i wath-thalji wal-baradi, wa naqqihi minal-khataya kama naqqayta ath-thawbal-abyada minad-danasi, wa abdilhu daran khayran min darihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wa adkhilhu al-jannata, wa a'idhhu min 'adhabi al-qabri wa 'adhabi an-nar. (He said: 'And I also heard him say: And 'an his wealth, and give him reward for his good deeds, and if he committed good deeds, then increase it for him, and do not give him hardship, and do not try him.')
