Deceased
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 963

O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, and pardon him, and honor his resting place, and make his entrance wide, and cleanse him with water, snow, and hail. Purify him from sins as a white garment is purified from dirt. And give him a home better than his home, and a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse. And admit him to Paradise, and protect him from the punishment of the grave and from the punishment of the Fire.

Allahummaghfir lahu warhamhu, wa 'aafihi, wa'fu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu, wa wassi' madkhalahu, waghsilhu bil-maa'i wath-thalji wal-baradi, wa naqqihi minal-khataaya kamaa yunqqath-thawbul-abyadu minad-danasi, wa abdilhu daaran khayran min daarihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wadkhilhul-jannata, wa a'idh-hu min 'adhaabil-qabri, wa min 'adhaabin-naar.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from `Auf bin Malik Al-Ashja`i that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed over a dead man and he heard him say: 'O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, and pardon him, and honor his resting place, and make his entrance wide, and cleanse him with water, snow, and hail. Cleanse him from his sins as a white garment is cleansed from dirt. And give him a home better than his home, and a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse. And admit him to Paradise, and protect him from the punishment of the grave and from the punishment of the Fire.' `Auf bin Malik said: 'Or he said: 'And protect him from the punishment of the grave and from the Fire,' (and I am not sure which he said).
