O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, grant him well-being, pardon him, honor his reception, make his grave spacious, cleanse him with water, snow, and hail, purify him from sins as a white garment is purified from dirt, and give him a home better than his home, a family better than his family, a spouse better than his spouse, and admit him to Paradise. Protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire.

It was narrated from 'Awf bin Malik Al-Ashja'i that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led the funeral prayer and he stood up and said: 'O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, grant him well-being, pardon him, honor his reception, make his grave spacious, cleanse him with water, snow, and hail, as a white garment is cleansed from dirt, and give him a home better than his home, and a family better than his family, and grant him the ability to intercede for those whom he loves, and admit him to Paradise, and protect him from the torment of the grave and the torment of the Fire.' He said: 'And [also say]: O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those who are present among us and those who are absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah, whoever You keep alive of us, keep him alive on Islam, and whoever You cause to die, cause him to die on faith. O Allah, do not forbid us from his reward and do not cause us to deviate after him.'
