Deceased
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 904

O Allah, forgive [name of deceased], raise his station among those who are guided, and leave behind successors for him among those who remain. Forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds, and make his grave spacious and light it up for him.

Allahummaghfir li [name of deceased], warfa' darajatahu fil-mahdiyyin, wakhlafhu fi 'aqibihi fil-ghabirin, waghfir lana wa lahu ya Rabb al-'alamin, wafsah lahu fi qabrihi wa nawwir lahu fih.

It was narrated from 'Awf ibn Malik Al-Ashja'i that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed over a bier and said: 'Allahumma-ghfir lahu warhamhu wa 'aafihi wa'fu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu wa wassi' madkhalahu, waghsilhu bil-maa'i wath-thalji wal-barad, wa naqqihi minal-khataaya kamaa nuqqiyat thawb-ul-abyadu minad-danas. Wa abdilhu daaran khayran min daarihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wa adkhilhul-Jannata wa a'idhhu min 'adhaabil-Qabr wa min 'adhaabin-Naar' (O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, give him security and pardon him. Honor his hospitality, make his entry wide, and wash him with water, snow and hail. Cleanse him from sins as a white garment is cleansed from dirt. Give him a home better than his home, a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse. Enter him into Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire). Narrated by Muslim. Another version includes: 'Allahumma-ghfir li-fulan warfa' darajatahu fil-mahdiyyin...' (O Allah, forgive [name of deceased], and raise his station among those who are guided...)
