Wisdom allows us to make sound judgments, understanding helps us apply knowledge correctly, and increased knowledge broadens our perspective. Together, they are essential for navigating the complexities of business, ensuring our decisions are not only profitable but also ethical and aligned with Allah's pleasure. Such a request reflects humility and reliance on the One who truly possesses all wisdom.
Source & Authentication
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): We used to learn these words during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ, just as we learned the Quran: 'Allahumma 'allimni al-hikmata wa fahhimni ad-dina wa zidni 'ilman.' (O Allah, grant me wisdom, and make me understand religion, and increase my knowledge.) This indicates the importance the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions placed on seeking wisdom and understanding alongside their religious knowledge.
