Business & Work
Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 925

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

Recite this dua before embarking on significant strategic decisions, during brainstorming sessions, or when feeling overwhelmed by choices. It's particularly potent when seeking guidance and understanding for a major business pivot.

How to Read

Raise your hands slightly in supplication, facing the Qiblah if possible. Speak with sincerity and conviction, understanding that you are seeking assistance from the One who knows all things. Imagine the clarity and insight you seek flowing from Allah (SWT). Repeat it three times for added emphasis.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua, taught by our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, asks for three crucial elements for success in this life and the next. Beneficial knowledge aids in making sound judgments, goodly provision sustains us and allows for growth, and acceptable deeds ensure our efforts are recognized and rewarded by Allah. In the context of a business pivot, 'beneficial knowledge' can be interpreted as the insight needed to navigate complex market changes and make wise strategic choices.

Source & Authentication

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The supplication of a servant is granted as long as the supplication is not for something sinful or for the severing of ties of kinship, as long as he does not become impatient.' It was asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, how will he become impatient?' He said: 'He says: I have supplicated, I have supplicated, and I have not seen anything being answered, and he becomes discouraged and abandons the supplication.' (Sunan Ibn Majah 925). Related narration: From Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to say, when he finished his morning prayer: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.' (Sunan Ibn Majah 925).
