Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: 'When you enter a marketplace, say: Allahumma inni as'aluka khairaha wa khaira ahliha wa khaira ma fiha, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ahliha wa sharri ma fiha ('O Allah, I ask You for its goodness, the goodness of its people, and the goodness of what is in it. And I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil of its people, and the evil of what is in it.') And say Bismillah (In the name of Allah), and say alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), and La ilaha illallah (There is no god but Allah), and Allahu akbar (Allah is the Greatest). Then say: Allahumma inni as'aluka an taj'ala li min amri 'ausi wa rizqin halalan tayyiban ('O Allah, I ask You to make my affairs abundant and my provision lawful and good.') And seek refuge in Allah from the hardship of the day of sorrow and from the evil of the night, and from the evil of the possessed wealth."
