Virtues & Benefits
This comprehensive dua covers the three essential pillars for success in this life and the hereafter, especially concerning one's profession. * **Beneficial Knowledge ('ilman nafi'an):** This isn't just academic knowledge, but knowledge that leads to action, guides you in making halal choices in your work, and allows you to contribute positively to society. * **Goodly Provision (rizqan tayyiban):** This asks for sustenance that is lawful, pure, and sufficient. It encompasses wealth earned through honest means, free from doubt or haram elements, and that which brings true contentment. * **Acceptable Deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan):** This is the ultimate goal – that your efforts in your profession are recognized and rewarded by Allah. It means working with intention, honesty, and excellence, ensuring your work aligns with Islamic principles.

Thumamah bin Shurayh Al-Hanafi narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to say: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا "O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds." He would say this after the Fajr prayer.
