أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.
A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq
When to Read
You know that feeling, when you lock up your shop for the night, or leave your office for a trip, and a tiny whisper of worry crosses your mind about what might happen while you're away? Or perhaps you live in an area prone to storms or other natural events. This dua is a beautiful spiritual remedy for those moments. Recite it daily, especially as part of your morning and evening remembrances (adhkar). Make it a habit before you open your business each day, as you step into your workplace, or when you leave your property. It's also profoundly reassuring to utter it when you feel any sense of vulnerability regarding your assets or livelihood, reminding yourself that ultimate protection comes from Allah.
How to Read
Recite this dua with full conviction and presence of heart, understanding that true protection and preservation come solely from Allah. Turn to Him sincerely, believing in His absolute power to guard and preserve all that you possess. You can repeat this dua three times or more, internalizing its meaning and trusting in Allah's promise.
Virtues & Benefits
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave us a tremendous promise with this dua. He said: "Whoever stops at a place and then says: 'أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ' (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created), nothing will harm him until he departs from that place." (Sahih Muslim 2708). Think about that for a moment. *Nothing will harm him*. While the hadith speaks of protection for a person in a particular location, the breadth of "the evil of what He has created" is immense. It encompasses all potential harms – not just jinn or human mischief, but also natural disasters like devastating floods, fires, powerful winds, or earthquakes that could threaten your hard-earned business assets, inventory, or property. This dua acts as a spiritual fortress. It's a declaration of your **Tawakkul (reliance on Allah)**, shifting your focus from anxiety to profound trust in the only One who can truly protect. When we turn to Him with such sincerity, He answers, granting us a deep sense of peace and safeguarding, by His infinite power, all that is dear to us.
