Business & Work
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2722

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that displeases You.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa faja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sukhitik.

When to Read

This powerful dua is comprehensive and can be recited at any time, but it's particularly potent when facing uncertainty in your business, before embarking on a new venture, or during times of economic downturn. Making it a habit, especially during the morning and evening supplications (Adhkar as-Sabah wa al- المساء), offers continuous protection.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, visualizing Allah's protection surrounding your business and livelihood. Raise your hands slightly, as taught in the Sunnah for supplication. Focus on the meaning of each phrase, acknowledging Allah's absolute power and control over all affairs.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication is a shield against unforeseen misfortunes that can plague any business. By seeking refuge in Allah from the 'cessation of Your blessings,' we ask that the success and stability we enjoy are not taken away. Asking for protection from the 'change of Your protection' safeguards us from sudden harm or loss of well-being. Seeking refuge from 'the suddenness of Your punishment' is a profound plea against divine retribution for any shortcomings. Finally, seeking refuge from 'all that displeases You' is a commitment to upholding Islamic ethics in our business dealings, thereby earning Allah's pleasure and safeguarding our ventures from ill-gotten gains or unethical practices.
