اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ.

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need anyone other than You.

Allahummakfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.

When to Read

This dua is profoundly relevant for anyone facing financial difficulties in their business, particularly when struggling to recover outstanding debts. It's a powerful supplication to turn to Allah after taking all necessary practical steps to retrieve what is owed. Recite it after Fajr prayer, or at any time you feel the need for Allah's assistance in managing your business finances and recovering dues.

How to Read

To recite this dua effectively, ensure you are in a state of purity (wudu). Face the Qiblah if possible, raise your hands slightly, and recite with sincere concentration and unwavering belief in Allah's power to provide. Reflect on the meaning of the words as you speak them. It's also beneficial to pair this dua with consistent, honest effort in your business dealings and a patient, trusting heart while awaiting Allah's response.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encompasses a comprehensive plea for financial well-being. By asking Allah to suffice us with His lawful means, we seek protection from illicit earnings and financial ruin. Asking for enrichment through His grace emphasizes reliance solely on Him, fostering contentment and reducing dependence on creation. For business owners, this translates to seeking halal income and Allah's assistance in resolving financial disputes, like debt recovery, through means that are pleasing to Him.

Source & Authentication

Narrated by Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him): A man came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said, "My business is failing, and I am heavily in debt. What should I do?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "Say frequently: 'Allahummakfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.'" (O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need anyone other than You.) The man said he did that, and Allah removed his debt and made his business prosperous.
