It was narrated from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that a 'mukatib' (a slave who had made a contract to free himself in exchange for a sum of money) came to him and said: 'I am unable to pay my enablement money. Help me.' He said: 'Shall I not teach you words that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught you, which if you said them, then if you had the debt of Sarad (a mountain full of gold), Allah would pay it for you? Say: O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful (halal) provision instead of Your unlawful (haram) provision, and suffice me with Your grace, so that I may not need to ask from anyone other than You.'
