O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my hearing, from the evil of my sight, from the evil of my tongue, from the evil of my heart, and from the evil of my semen.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri sam'i, wa min sharri basari, wa min sharri lisani, wa min sharri qalbi, wa min sharri maniyyi

Virtues & Benefits
This dua directly addresses seeking Allah's refuge from the 'evil' of our senses and inner self. The 'evil of the tongue' encompasses everything from idle talk and lying to slander and abusive language. By seeking refuge, we acknowledge our human weakness and ask Allah to safeguard our speech, preventing us from falling into sins related to our tongue. This protection extends to safeguarding our deeds and our faith, as the tongue is often described as a gateway to greater transgressions. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself taught this dua, highlighting its immense importance for a believer's well-being in this life and the next.

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us a comprehensive supplication, saying: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri sam'i, wa min sharri basari, wa min sharri lisani, wa min sharri qalbi, wa min sharri maniyyi.' (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my hearing, from the evil of my sight, from the evil of my tongue, from the evil of my heart, and from the evil of my semen.) He advised us to recite this after prayer.
