O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the reversal of Your well-being, the suddenness of Your vengeance, and all that You dislike. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of manners and desires.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik, wa a'udhu bika min munkaratil akhlaqi wal ahwa'.
When to Read
This dua is specifically mentioned as being recited by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ after finishing his prayers. It's a powerful supplication to seek Allah's protection during a vulnerable time, right after completing an act of worship where one might feel a sense of accomplishment that could inadvertently lead to arrogance.
How to Read
Recite this dua sincerely after completing your obligatory (fard) or voluntary (nafl) prayers. It's best to say it while still in the place where you prayed, if possible, and with a humble heart, reflecting on the meaning of each phrase. Maintaining a state of focus and earnestness is key.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication encapsulates a profound awareness of our dependence on Allah. By seeking refuge from the loss of blessings and well-being, and from His displeasure, we acknowledge that everything good comes from Him. Crucially, seeking refuge from 'evil manners and desires' directly counters arrogance, pride, and base inclinations, which are often born from a misplacement of gratitude and a forgetfulness of our true station. It's a way to ensure that our worship doesn't become a source of spiritual harm, but rather a means of purification and closeness to Allah, fostering true humility.

Translation: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the reversal of Your well-being, the suddenness of Your vengeance, and all that You dislike. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of manners and desires.'
