All praise is due to Allah, much, pure, and blessed praise. (We praise Him) in a way that is not insufficient, nor is it bade farewell (meaning, we will always need Him), nor can we do without Him, our Lord.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates profound gratitude. By praising Allah in this manner – acknowledging that His blessings are abundant, that we will always depend on Him, and never have enough of His favor – we are seeking His continued pleasure and provision. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this specific phrasing, showing us how comprehensive our thanks should be, covering aspects of sufficiency, permanence, and our inherent need for Him.

Narrated Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (ﷺ) when he was raised to his full height (meaning he had finished his meal), used to say: 'Al-hamdulillah hamdan katheeran tayyiban mubarakan feehi, ghaira makfiyyin wa laa muwadda'in wa la mustaghnan 'anhu rabbuna.' (All praise is due to Allah, much, pure, and blessed praise.
