Weather & Nature
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2708

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq

When to Read

This powerful dua is perfect for reciting when you anticipate encountering potential dangers from animals, especially in natural environments like camping, hiking, or even if you live in an area prone to snakes, scorpions, or other venomous creatures. It's also a good general supplication to make when you leave your home, as taught by the Prophet ﷺ, to seek Allah's protection from all unseen harms.

How to Read

Recite this dua three times in the morning and three times in the evening. Ensure you are facing the Qiblah if possible, and recite with sincerity and conviction, truly believing that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is the only one who can provide true protection. It's a simple yet profound act of reliance on our Creator.

Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua as a means of protection from all created evils. When recited consistently, it is a powerful shield against harm, including that which may come from dangerous animals. It fosters a deep sense of Tawakkul (reliance on Allah) and reminds us that all creation, no matter how fearsome, is subject to Allah's will and power. **Hadith Context:** The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "Whoever says this dua three times in the morning, nothing will harm him that day. And whoever says it three times in the evening, nothing will harm him that night." (Sahih Muslim 2708)

Source & Authentication

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, what has Allah warned against?" He said: "He warned against idols and the great sins." The man said: "I do not ask you about this." He said: "I ask you about the protection from the evils (of creation)." He said: "I have been told that whoever says in the morning: *'A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq'* (I seek refuge in the perfect words ofAllah from the evil of what He has created), nothing will harm him that day until evening, and whoever says it in the evening, nothing will harm him until morning, and he was (or it was) like a servant (of Allah)."
