O Allah, let it be around us and not upon us. O Allah, (let it rain) on the hills and mountains, and in the valleys, and on the places where trees grow.
Allahumma hawalayna wa la 'alayna, Allahumma 'alal-akami wadh-dhirabi, wa butoonil-awdiyati, wa manabitish-shajari

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: We were in the company of the Prophet ﷺ when a man entered (the mosque) from the other side of the mosque. The man was riding his camel, and we thought that he wanted to make his camel kneel down in the mosque. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'O Abu Darr, do you know what this man is saying?' He said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'He is saying: O Allah, forgive me and Muhammad.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'You have asked Allah for something great. If He forgives him, He will forgive me too. O Abu Darr, do you know what Allah's Messenger said?' He said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'My Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, has asked me today to supplicate for this Ummah. So, woe to them, woe to them, woe to them.' Abu Darr said, 'O Allah's Messenger, what will you do to them?' He said, 'I will ask my Lord to grant them respite, and I will ask Him to grant them relief.' Then the Prophet ﷺ raised his hands and said: 'O Allah, be kind to us and not harsh upon us. O Allah, be kind to us and not harsh upon us.' Then he said: 'O Allah, let it be around us and not upon us. O Allah, let it (rain) be on the hills and mountains, and in the valleys, and on the places where trees grow.' Anas said: The rain came down for the rest of the day and the next day and the next day, and the people enjoyed it. And that used to be the case when the rain was heavy. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Do you know what is 'Al-Akam'?' I said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'The rocks.' Then he said: 'Do you know what is 'Adh-dhirab'?' I said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'The hills.' Then he said: 'Butun Al-Awdiya' means the beds of the valleys, and 'Manabit Ash-Shajar' means the places where trees grow.'
