Weather & Nature
Sahih HadithSunan Abi Dawud 5073

اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنْ حَرِّ جَهَنَّمَ

O Allah, save me from the heat of Hellfire.

Allahumma ajirni min harr Jahanam

When to Read

This powerful dua is recommended during times of intense heat. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to recite it seven times in the morning and seven times in the evening. By asking Allah to save us from the heat of Hellfire, we are seeking refuge from extreme discomfort in this life while simultaneously earning immense reward for the Hereafter.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and a seeking heart. It is best to say it seven times each morning and evening, as taught by our beloved Prophet ﷺ. Focus on the meaning as you utter the words, envisioning yourself seeking Allah's protection from all forms of hardship, both worldly and eternal.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a direct connection to seeking Allah's protection from the intense heat of Jahannam (Hellfire). The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ mentioned that whoever says this dua in the morning, Allah appoints seventy thousand angels to pray for them until the evening, and whoever says it in the evening, Allah appoints seventy thousand angels to pray for them until the morning. If he dies that day or night, he dies a martyr. (Sunan Abi Dawud 5073). This beautifully illustrates how seeking refuge from a worldly discomfort can lead to immense spiritual blessings and even martyrdom.
