Weather & Nature
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2729

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest.

SubhanAllahi walhamdulillah wa la ilaha illAllah wallahu akbar.

When to Read

This beautiful dhikr is perfect for reciting when observing any natural phenomenon – from the gentle falling of rain to the vastness of the starry night sky, or the power of a storm. It’s a way to immediately connect our awe of creation with the Creator, reminding ourselves of His infinite glory and power. Use it during a walk in nature, while watching a sunset, or even when a sudden gust of wind catches your attention.

How to Read

This phrase is a comprehensive dhikr (remembrance of Allah) that can be recited at any time, but it’s particularly fitting when witnessing the wonders of the natural world. There are no strict rules on how to recite it, other than sincerity and presence of heart. You can say it silently to yourself or out loud. The key is to let the words fill your heart with the remembrance of Allah as you look upon His creation.

Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ encouraged the constant remembrance of Allah. This specific dhikr encompasses the essence of Tawhid (Oneness of Allah), His perfection, His blessings, and His absolute might. By reciting it when observing nature, we actively turn our observations into acts of worship. It strengthens our Iman (faith) by reminding us that every element we see – the mountains, the oceans, the clouds, the stars – is a testament to Allah's power and wisdom. The Quran itself prompts us to look at the heavens and the earth: 'Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding' (Al-Imran 3:190).

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'The best words to say are SubhanAllah, walhamdulillah, wa la ilaha illAllah, wallahu akbar.' (Sahih Muslim 2729). This hadith highlights the immense value of these words as a form of remembrance and praise.
